Seville is one of the main and important city in the Andalusia region, where the home to the glorious heritage of Islamic kingdom of medieval Spain. It is now located in the South-West of Spain. Alcazar de Seville

Alcazar is the royal palace in Seville, it was built in Moorish architecture style. It is one of most beautiful royal palace in Spain. The  garden and the room in the palace are wonderful. Surprising that this Alcazar is still being used by the royal family. The Alcazar is situated in the old town of Sevilla and it’s close to a lot of the other main attraction.

Cathedral de Seville

This is a gothic cathedral with a lot of sculptures and carving. It’s located along the Avenida de La Constitucion that connects La Giralda and the Alcazar. The structure of the cathedral is breathtaking and with a lot of details. And the remain of the legendary explorer Christopher Columbus was placed in the catafalque inside this cathedral.

La Giralda

La Giralda is one of the most beautiful bell tower that I have seen because of its unique structure that has Islamic influenced. This is the most prominent place to visit in Seville, the tower was completed in 1198. There are two similar tower to La Giralda which located in Morocco, the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech and the Hassan tower in Rabat. You would never miss La Giralda tower when you’re in Sevilla because of its height and it’s an important tower in Seville since medieval Spain. Right now La Giralda is the bell tower for the cathedral of Seville.

Plaza de España

It was built in the year 1928 with moorish revival architecture style. It can be tell from the art of the tiled of the building. The location of Plaza de España could be tricky that it is located inside Parque de Maria Luisa. If you couldn’t find this plaza, just head to Parque de Maria Luisa and you’ll find this astonishing view of Plaza de España right in the center of the park. The building is massive and huge that you could spend a lot of time inside. To all Star Wars fans out there, you should definitely come here because a few scene from the Star Wars episode 1 and 2 were filmed here in Plaza de España.

Alameda de Hercules

This sight is located at the historical centre of Sevilla. It was built in 1574 and it’s the oldest garden square in Spain and in Europe. There are two columns on top of the pedestal which are Hercules and Julius Caesar. This garden square is best for a walk and cycling. It is surrounded by a lot of tapas bars that local mostly goes to.

Metropol Parasol

Metropol Parasol also popularly known as Las Setas de la Encarnacion, it is located at Plaza de la Encarnacion. This site is not to be missed despite a lot of people unaware of the existence of this building. Get to the viewpoint on top to have an impressive view and also overview about Sevilla. The mushroom-like designed of the building makes it special that you wouldn’t overlook it when you’re around Laraña street. And it claims to be the largest wooden structure in the world.

Barrio Santa Cruz

Barrio Santa Cruz is also known as the Jewish Quarter in Seville. It’s located near the cathedral and it’s at the southern part of the historical centre of the city. The maze-like and narrow street makes this neighbourhood interesting. Put down your map and wander around this area, you will find some nice tapas bars or restaurant.

Torre del Oro (Golden Tower)

Now, head off to the riverfront of Guadalquivir river and you’ll find this golden tower in cylindrical shape. It was constructed in the 13th century by the Almohad Caliphate. It is also a museum with many interesting items, you could go to the top to get a good view of the city and the river.

Plaza de Toros de La Maestranza

Bullfighting is a very tradition of Spain. La Maestranza is one the major bullring in Spain and also one of the oldest bullring in the world, it was built in 1761. There’s an entrance fee for the bullring if you want to enter and visit it and there’ll be a tour for this bullring. If you’re interested in architecture of bullring, you have to pay a visit here.
